Invite.indd

The Leinster Printmaking Studio, Clane, Co. Kildare, with support from the Kildare County Council Arts and Library Services  and Dublin City Public Libraries are launching their yearlong programme of exhibitions and workshops in the Little Museum of Dublin, on Saturday 16th January 2016 at 5.00p.m. Fifty printmakers from eight Printmaking Studios around Ireland accepted an invitation to participate in the project, which aims to create awareness of little known events or incidents during or around the time of the Easter Rising in 1916.

The artists researched incidents and aspects of life at the time and created little prints in response to their research. Beginning with the exhibition in the Little Museum of Dublin, St Stephen’s Green, which runs from the 16th – 25th January 2016, the project will tour libraries and venues in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Cork, Galway and Donegal during the year. In most venues the exhibition will be accompanied by a workshop for adults and/or children. A limited edition illustrated publication will be available. The prints, along with the stories, incidents or events that inspired them, can be viewed here: http://www.littlestorieslittleprints.com/
