Palimpsest/ Rianú Artwork in OPW Art of the State Touring Exhibition
An Arrangement of Skin – one of the eight artworks from the Palimpsest/ Rianú Project has been selected for inclusion in this year’s OPW Art of the State Touring Exhibition. This exhibition was collaboratively selected from the OPW Collection and Art Collection of Northern Ireland by eleven undergraduate students from Belfast School of Art, University of Ulster who participated in the project, led by their Course Director, Louise O’Boyle. The theme of this year’s show is Construct.
The Course Director advises that the exhibition is ‘a culmination of connections and constructed discourses between the student group and the artworks’. The students were given freedom to develop the exhibition theme, select artworks, and inform the catalogue design and its content.
The exhibition will tour to four exhibition venues in Ireland and Northern Ireland – Newtownards Arts Centre (3 Sept), Omagh Library (1 Oct), Luan Gallery, Athlone (6 Nov) and Bray Institute of Further Education (18 Dec).
