Sculpture in Context at the Botanic Gardens 2011

In September 2011 I collaborated with my sister Madeleine Hellier to create The Flower Mill sculpture for the 10th annual Sculpture in Context Exhibition at the Botanic Gardens in Dublin. Our proposal for the exhibition had been a few years in the pipeline after visiting the exhibition on an annual basis and we were delighted when it was accepted and it received a very enthusiastic response from visitors to the gardens.

The sculpture comprised two water mills using vintage china teacups on a wire framework. These were sited in context in the small waterfalls in the water feature which filled, emptied and refilled the cups to turn the wheel. View the video of
